Why You Should Run in the Morning!

I'm on holiday at the moment and just went on a run along the beach at about 7am with the sun rising and the waves crashing into the sand. It made me realise how important and motivating running in the morning is. Not only does it make you feel refreshed, energized and ready for the day ahead but also gives you a different perspective on a place. You are viewing the town, city or village at a time when not many people are awake, let alone walking the streets. The only people that you see are exhausted dog walkers, those on their way to grab a morning coffee with a newspaper in hand and other runners who are keen to feel that same gorgeous bliss that you experience. The shops and restaurants aren't open and the place feels so empty yet still has that same energy and character that you see during the day. The whole experience is so much more personal. You gain a sort of connection with a place by whizzing around the streets and exploring. It doesn't matter if you go 2km or 10km or whether you only spend 10 minutes or run for an hour, you still feel so much more positive for the rest of the day. So, set your alarm, grab your trainers and run!‬ Plus, remember to drink plenty of water and stretch before you go. If you are someone who runs regularly, I would recommend investing in a running belt where you can safely keep your keys, phone and other items that you take with you.
